Health Promotion

Often when you consult your doctor he will take the opportunity to check your blood pressure and ask about your lifestyle and general health, and advise accordingly.

Telephone Advice

Your doctors may not be able to speak to you during surgery time but will telephone you when they are free.

Please tell our staff if your call concerns an urgent medical condition.

Home Visits By Doctor Or Nurse

If you are housebound or very ill and unable to get to the surgery please telephone the surgery between 8.30am and 10.30am. A doctor or nurse may telephone you initially. Patients should come to the surgery if possible. Children can be brought to the surgery in a car if they are feverish. If you or your child has a possible infectious disease, please inform the receptionist who will arrange for you to be seated separately.

Repeat Prescriptions

Items that have been approved for repeat prescription by your doctor are held on computer. Requests should be made in writing, by our online repeat prescription service or by submitting the request slip attached to your prescription. Please allow at least FOUR working days for your request to be processed and send an SAE if you wish it to be posted.  Please do not contact reception or the secretaries for repeat prescriptions.

For our new online repeat prescription service please ask at reception or the dispensary for details of how to register to use this service. Patients receiving regular medication should see their doctor at least once a year.

Dispensary

We can dispense medicines including repeat prescriptions to patients living outside a one-mile radius from a chemist or who experience particular difficulty in travelling to the chemist due to a medical condition.

Please enquire at the dispensary if you would like to use this service.

Test Results

Please allow at least 5 working days for the results to come back from the hospital and be checked. Please phone for the results during the afternoon only between 2 and 4.30pm. For X-rays please allow 10 working days.

Disabled People

Please let the receptionist know if you need any assistance. Our surgery is accessible to wheelchairs and there is a car park space for disabled drivers. A hearing loop system is installed in reception and a portable system is available for use in other areas.

Please use the car park provided for you at the Edenbridge Memorial Health Centre.
